When our friend Ryan O’Connor, from Cape Town’s KFM radio station, recently contacted us with a special request we immediately committed to helping a young girl and her family from Johannesburg. Chade, who is six years old, was diagnosed with the terminal condition hollow visceral myopathy (HVM) in May 2015, and has since been undergoing treatment at the Red Cross Hospital in Cape Town.
Due to the nature of Chade’s condition, her mother, Charlotte, has been spending most of the last year by her side. In the process, she has lost her job – her sole source of income as a single parent.
Club Travel has assisted the family through these trying times by sponsoring several domestic flights for Charlotte and her son between Cape Town and Johannesburg, in order for her to attend to business up in Johannesburg, with the least amount of time away from Chade.
We only wish the family the very best for the time that lies ahead.
