Emirates will launch the sale of their Premium Economy seats as of 1 June 2022, for travel from 1 August 2022. Six of Emirates’ aircrafts are equipped and ready to fly passengers travelling the London Heathrow, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Christchurch, and Sydney routes, in Premium Economy style.
On the Emirates’ A380 aircrafts, the new offering will be situated at the front of the main deck, and have 56 seats available. On the Boeing 777, there will be up to 24 Premium Economy seats in a dedicated cabin section between Business and Economy.
The new features include the following:
- Dedicated check-in:
Travellers will have a dedicated check-in space at the Dubai International Airport or will be able to make use of a self-check-in kiosk.
- Luxurious seats:
The Premium Economy seats will have adjustable headrests (adaptable in 6 different ways), covered in cream leather, and they can recline into a comfortable stretched-out cradle position, with ample legroom. The seats will include calf-rests and footrests for additional comfort and offer travellers easily accessible in-chair charge points and side tables.
Travellers will be able to enjoy amenity kits kept in reusable, sustainable bags, as well as a soft, sustainable blanket made from recycled bottles.
Inspired by Emirates’ Business Class offering, travellers are greeted on-board with a welcome drink in fine glassware, and the meal-offering lists a selection of generous meals made with seasonal ingredients and regional influences. All meals will be served on chinaware, accompanied by stainless steel cutlery wrapped in a linen napkin.
The drinks listing includes premium wines, sparkling wines, and liqueurs with chocolates.
Each traveller will have a 34cm screen at their disposal to view any of the 5 000 channels of music, TV, News, and other content.
Emirates says it is the only airline in the region to offer this product and Sir Tim Clark, EK’s President, said the intention of the airline is to offer the product to many more markets across its network. Sir Clark said, “This November, we will begin our retrofit programme to install Premium Economy on 67 A380s and 53 Boeing 777s. At the end of the programme, Emirates will have 126 aircraft fitted out with Premium Economy cabins, as well as our latest interiors across other cabins. It is a major investment to ensure our customers continue to have the best experience in the sky.”
